Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em!

I wait for our government to do that!
I dread to think what they will legislate against next – what ever happened to being responsible for oneself and others around you?
I don’t smoke (anymore), I would prefer it if people didn’t around me (pregnancy does that to you) and I will ask that people not smoke around my little one when (s)he arrives, but I will respect the right of others to smoke in their own home or car. If they won’t stop smoking and I don’t like it, I can always leave :D

Congratz on your upcoming bundle o’ joy. AND congrats on kickin’ the nicotine too!

    I don’t smoke either, btw.

Having just read that, I realise it missed the point that the children can’t always leave the environs of the smoker and they often don’t have a choice but to be in the presence of the smoker. I honestly don’t know how best to rectify that kind of situation, but I am not sure legislation is the way to go. There is so much that is hazardous to a human being’s health, if we legislate against all of it, we will be in hermetically sealed spheres, with filtered everything and we will have lost the point of being human beings!
I await the flames of scorn (with an asbestos overcoat) ;) .

Thank you, I kicked the habit when I first found out I was expecting! To be honest, it wasn’t difficult with the morning sickness but I absolutely refuse to become an evangelical ex-smoker who tries to get everyone to give up and upsets everyone in the process (or you could read that as – I don’t want to turn into my mother!!). :D

I’m glad my little cartoon encouraged you to give your opinion on the subject, Lillabet. I hope others chime in as well.

I can imagine a smoking beaver in his dam is always at risk…
